East Transcona Before and After Program is a non-profit child care facility that has been in operation since 1997. The program became licensed by the provincial government in September 2007. We operate out of six different rooms in the Harold Hatcher Elementary School, with access to the gym and school playground. We work closely with the school to build and develop a program designed in the best interests of your child.

Our program provides professional, quality care by trained Early Childhood Educators. We provide a wide variety of social activites and learning experiences which encourage the development of self confidence, while building warm relationships between children and staff. We include outdoor play as part of our regular programming when weather permits, along with physical activities, crafts, special projects and group activities. We also offer a nutritious snack before and after school in accordance with the Canada Food Guide.

Our program offers educational experiences that change and progress as children grow, in order to ensure their developmental needs are met. We are governed by a Board of Directors that is elected on a yearly basis, and keep up to date with our professional development activities for staff. 

 

Our staff communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's development, and encourage open communication with families. Parents are always welcome at our centre.
